The foundation of this 75 years legacy was laid by Vishnuprasad Jha and Brothers when he started V. Ambalal & Co. as the sole-selling agent of R. R. Hosiery, India's leading manufacturer of men’s undergarments back then. After a brilliant run of 42 years, sons Vipul Jha, a mechanical engineer and Dharmesh Jha, a Chartered Accountant took over the business and thus started their entrepreneurial journey.

Sensing potential for growth in the readymade garment sector, Vipul Jha established ‘Vipul Enterprises’ in 1987 to cater to the domestic Indian market with the aim to be the leading wholesaler of export surplus readymade garments. Later on, addressing the growing need of Indian garments overseas, brothers Vipul and Dharmesh established ‘Jha Export Private Limited’ in 1995.

With 33 years in the industry, Mumbai-based Jha Export Private Limited is now considered to be one of the most reputed and leading exporters and distributors of 100% genuine export surplus garments for men, women and children.The company has grown over time to acquire in-depth market knowledge and expertise.

Over the years, the business scaled and achieved great heights under the vision of Vipul Jha as he expanded the export portfolio to include an extensive range of products other than garments. Jha Export Private Limited has now become a turnkey, one-point solution for all sourcing and export-related requirements by international buyers, and has a strong network of working relations worldwide.

Dharmesh Jha moved to Chicago, USA in 2000 and started ‘Bombay Boutique’ ( www.bombayboutique.net) in 2003 – a retail outlet of Ethnic & Indian Fashion garments upon sensing the need and demand for Indian Ethnic among Asians & locals. Together, they also started Naitik Inc. in 2008 for sourcing products to and from USA as buying and selling agents.

A journey that started with Vipul Enterprises is now on its way to create a legacy with ‘Surplus Nation’, one of India’s first e-commerce wholesale sites created in 2016 to make business convenient and faster, and reach a global customer-base.

Gen next: Sonam and Utsavi Jha are daughters of Vipul Jha. Sonam is a Fashion Designer (www.sonam.co) , merchandiser for Bombay Boutique and also manages sourcing and development for Jha Export and Utsavi jha is content writer and media specialist along with being a musician (www.utsavijha.com) . Naitik ans Hinjal Jha are kids of Dharmesh Jha, both settled in USA . Naitik is a CPA and MBA currently working in finance and Hinjal Jha is a Physicians assistant.
